Giants always fall in the presence of God, right?
So, here comes 2004! I have a little mixed emotions about the new year. I am glad I made it through 2003, I am excited about a fresh start, a brand new set of days flowing with dreams and possibilities. But realistically, I know the next year is going to be full of the unkown and probably a giant or two. I mean aren’t we always facing a giant? Isn’t Satan a constant thorn in our side? If I really let myself think about it for long I could become fearful of the unknown and the giants yet to be seen.
The good news is that what lies ahead is no surprise to God. As a matter of fact, he has already been where we are going. That reason alone empowers us to face every tomorrow with hope, knowing that whatever touches us passes through his hands, with His permission. It is not God’s plan for us to live in fear. He has already set into motion the defeat and fall of every giant we will ever face. Our part is to face our fear.
He is the same yesterday, today and forever! So then, my friend, I ask you, what is there to fear?
2 TIMOTHY 1:7 GOD DID NOT GIVE US A SPIRIT OF FEAR, BUT A SPIRIT OF POWER, LOVE AND A SOUND MIND.
Father, I trust you for whatever this year holds. I know that you are mighty and powerful. I rest in that power, knowing that your love for me will be my shield. I choose to believe your Word. I acknowledge you as lord of my life and praise you in advance for the days yet to come. Amen
