What Brings You Joy?
Job 10:20 says, “Are not my few days almost over? Turn away from me so I can have a moment’s joy.”
What brings me joy?
Finding a bargain on clothes. Parking spots close to the store, especially when I have both kids. Hitting all the green lights on the way to church, especially if my husband has made us late.
Both kids sleeping in. Making cookies with the kids. Writing a good article. Cooking a delicious dinner.
Dreaming Big! Following my heart and passion. Rocking Olivia to sleep. Dylan’s never ending questions. Olivia’s expnding vocabulary. Pictures that turn out perfect. Finding the kitchen as clean in the morning as I left it the night before. Praying together with my husband. Books that speak my language and touch my heart. Speaking to a group about God and the life we have now!
Long quiet time opportunities. Great conversation with a friend. “You’ve got mail!” A few hours to run errands all by myself. Grand parents and Great-Grandparents who love my children beyond comprehension. The pretty smell of a candle. Songs that remind me of something wonderful, like a friend, God, love or mothering. A quiet car ride even when the kids are with me. Date nights with my husband.
There are so many things that bring me joy. I could go on and on! God is good!
Are you having “one of those days?” Stop whatever you are doing, find a pen and a piece of paper and write down every little thing in your life that brings you joy. Write for five minutes and then read over the list. Maybe this can put a smile back on your face.
“You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand” (Psalm16:11)
Arrogance on the part of the meritorious is even more offensive to us than the arrogance of those without merit: for merit itself is offensive. by online roulette

We are shut out of all power and authority, by reason we are never employed either in civil or martial affairs, our counsels are despised, and laughed at, the best of our actions are trodden down with scorn, by the over-weening conceit, men have of themselves, and through a despisement of us. by texas holdem

I cannot forgive Descartes; in all his philosophy he did his best to dispense with God. But he could not avoid making Him set the world in motion with a flip of His thumb; after that he had no more use for God. by pacific poker

Socrates thought that if all our misfortunes were laid in one common heap, whence every one must take an equal portion, most persons would be contented to take their own and depart. by online roulette

Our main conclusions about the state are that a minimal state, limited to the narrow functions of protection against force, theft, fraud, enforcement of contracts, and so on, is justified; that any more extensive state will violate persons’ rights not to be forced to do certain things, and is unjustified; and that the minimal state is inspiring as well as right. by poker

I assert that a man has no reason to be ashamed of having an ape for a grandfather. If there were an ancestor whom I should feel shame in recalling, it would rather be a man endowed with great ability and a splendid position who used those gifts to obscure the truth. by online poker sites

Look at what Christ said about sin. The sins of the flesh. He said that a man who had looked after a woman lustfully had sinned as much as the man who had seduced her. How absurd! If a man in good health does not experience some kind of sexual reaction when he sees an attractive woman, there is something wrong with him. Paul said some wicked things, but Christ started it. by poker chips
