About Laura

I was born and raised in Oklahoma. I spent many of my growing up years participating in competitive gymnastics, cheerleading and dance. I also spent a lot of quality time with my horse "Buckshot". After graduating from Broken Arrow High School, I went on to college at Northeastern State University and earned a bachelor's degree in Speech and Language Pathology. I also spent much of my undergraduate college experience involved in Delta Zeta Sorority and the NSU Majestics Dance Squad. After graduation I went on to graduate school at Southwest Missouri State University where I received a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology.

In 1995, I married my "soul mate" Brian who is now an attorney. It was no accident that we were brought together.  God most certainly had his hand in it. In 1998 we had our first child Dylan who is now six years old and in 2002 our precious daughter was born, Olivia Rose. God has blessed our lives beyond measure.

God has given me a passion for women and women's issues. I have a private practice called Solutions Counseling in which I counsel women, children and families on a part time basis. I do some public speaking on mental health topics and Christian issues.  Lastly, I am homeschooling my son which is challenging and rewarding.

My hobbies include reading, writing devotionals playing with my kids. I also love to scuba dive with my husband.
